Decorate It – A Spring Garden Party

filed under

To say I am obsessed with Cheeky Home and their paper plates, napkins, and party wares is an understatement. Each collection that they come out with is even better than the last, and their newest spring collection is the best so far. The turquoise, pink, and gray color combo is just perfect for a spring time soiree. But my favorite piece of the collection is their floral patterned plates and cups. So, using their plates as my color and theme inspiration, I put together the perfect spring garden party complete with endless flowers and balloons. Because a party isn’t a party without flowers and balloons!

See? I wasn’t kidding! For this party I started with a white table cloth and layered on the blush pink and floral paper plates along with gray and white striped napkins, and blush pink plastic flatware.

Then I added in a large centerpiece filled with as many pretty flowers and greenery stems as I could find.

A few more small vases filled with flowers, a few pink ombre taper candles, and of course some sweets, filled out the rest of the table.

I am of the mindset that you can’t throw a party without a pretty bar cart. I don’t care if you fill it with sweets or cocktails or both, but it is the perfect addition to any party and it’s just so much fun to style!

For the spring garden party, I added more geometric metal lanterns filled with flowers to my bar cart and then completed the decor with balloons, pineapples, fruity drinks, and Cheeky dessert plates and forks.

A few of my favorite additions to this party are the paper flowers I made out of the paper napkins. Not only are they a pretty and delicate addition to the flower arrangements, but since they are made with the napkins from the same Cheeky party collection, they match the decor perfectly. Just cut the paper napkins into petal shapes in various sizes and use hot glue to glue the petals together from smallest to largest.

The final party decoration that proved to be a bit difficult to photograph but added so much to the party decor were the hanging paper plate spirals that I hung over the table. To make these I simply painted the back of several paper plates and then cut them into 1/2″ thick spirals and hung them from the middle of the plate and let the spiral hang down.

See how they bring your eye up and really fill out the party decorations? I love how an inexpensive little DIY like this can add so much to a party. It’s all in the details my friends!
