Style It – An Ornament Fireplace

filed under

Back in October I decked out my fireplace with an assortment of pumpkins. I loved the look so much, that I kept trying to find something equally as cute to fill it with once the pumpkins were packed away. Unfortunately, trying to fill it with ornaments wasn’t a viable option. Can you just imagine trying to fill up a fireplace with a ton of spherical ornaments? Not going to happen. Plus the cost of getting that many ornaments. Just not going to happen. I did however realize that I could hang a few ornaments from the fireplace screen for a much cheerier look that the drab, fire-less, black box.

See? Much better. And in the rare instances that I want a fire, I can simply remove them. Sure it would be so much better if I had a fireplace screen that I could just move to the side and I have dreams of getting a gold one like this someday:

But for now, I love the look of the fireplace with the pretty little ornaments hanging scattered across it.

Your mantel styling is spot on! Great job! We don't have a fireplace of any sort but I love the ball hanging idea. Are those felt applique stockings? Those are what we had growing up (and my parents still use) and I've made for myself, husband, and son. Don't see other similar ones very often!

Thanks so much! The two middle stockings are felt applique. My mother-in-law made them for my two kids. My husband and his siblings all had their own growing up and she wanted the grands to have ones too!
