Cook It - Halloween Snacks

Although we are getting close to Halloween, it is not to late to partake in all the festivities and cook up a fun Halloween snack for the kids (or yourself, I am not telling!). Today I made chocolate evil eye mummy cookies and creepy eyed chicken nuggets for the kids and they loved them. The great thing? They are super simple and use minimal ingredients.

The chicken nugget guys were made with frozen chicken nuggets, small circles of provolone cheese that I cut out using a piping tip, and black olives sliced up. Just cook the nuggets according to the package directions and top with the cheese and olives to create cute little spooky eyed creatures.

The cookies were made by modifying a box chocolate cake mix to make cookies instead of cake by omitting the water that is called for in the mix. Lime green sixlets were placed on the raw cookie dough rounds and then baked until just set. About 6-8 min at 350°F. White coating chocolate was then piped (or drizzled) over the cooled cookies to create the mummy like faces with creepy glowing eyes.

Super fun and super easy. That is how I like my holiday snacks!
