Paint It – Memphis Design Ornaments

filed under

You all loved the Memphis design pumpkins I painted for Halloween, so of course I had to do a Christmas version! The black and white graphic prints of iconic Memphis design worked so well with Halloween, but I didn’t think it would translate that well into my holiday color palate. So I softened up the color palate a bit and swapped the black for navy and, well, they turned out just amazing!

Materials:

  • Acrylic craft paint (I used DecoArt Americana acrylics in dragon fruit, cotton candy, saffron yellow, bluegrass green, sea breeze, melon, and navy blue
  • White ornaments
  • Paint brushes

The process is pretty straight forward. Just follow the designs as you see them in the picture and paint and polka dot and stripe the ornaments to give them a modern colorful geometric look. It’s really that simple! The only hard part is making enough to fill your tree!

I love your design ideas – the Christmas ornamens, but as well the reindeer baloons and the disco ball candle holders – just have to decide where to start. Thanks for the Inspiration!
