Next week will mark the 3 year mark of us moving into our house (I seriously can’t believe its been that long!). While most of our spaces have been painted and styled out, our master bedroom is in dire need of some style. When we moved in we replaced the stained carpet with dark wood floors and painted the dark maroon red walls a pretty mint blue, but that is where the decor stopped. With only a few minimal pieces, the space is pretty, but very empty feeling. What need the most help is our little sitting area surrounded by windows. When we moved in we didn’t have any furniture for that space and it has stayed empty for far too long. I recently got the dove gray Apel sofa from World Market, and am hoping to take advantage of their upcoming Friends and Family sale (hello an extra 30% on home décor, furniture, entertaining essentials and more!) to style out the rest of the space.

I think I am going to play off of the mint blue on the walls and create a navy blue, pink, and gray oasis complete with several varying textures.

I love the mix of the hard edged geometric shapes of the coffee table and wall art combined with the soft natural elements of the faux cow hide rug, blush pink pillow, and tassel woven pillow. Throw in a few metallic pieces like the chandelier and teardrop lamp and it’s the perfect well balanced yet colorful retreat that I can see my self relaxing in.
