DIY It – Colorful Edged Marble Hexagon Coasters

filed under

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a fun and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. After a bit of work and photo shoots I was able to spend family time swimming, eating breakfast with my mom and kids, and playing putt putt golf. All in all a good weekend. With the beginning of September and the passing of Labor Day, my mind is heading in the fall direction. The weather is still hot, and it may technically still be summer, but I may have already redecorated my built-in shelves for fall! I am so excited for the cooler weather and the entertaining that seems to come along with this time year. To get my bar cart ready for any guests that may stop by, I created this set of classy marble hexagon coasters with colorful edges.

As you can see, I passed on my normal gold detail and went with a hint of copper for one of my coasters. Something about the warm brown tones have me really crushing on copper for fall. Pair that with dark navy blue, mustard yellow, and peach and I have my new favorite colors for fall.

These coasters are so simple I don’t even have tutorial pictures for them, but below is the simple supply list.

The Supplies:

Yep, that is all you need to create these coasters. Just paint the edges of the tile with the paint, let dry, and they are ready to use. If you want to make the bottom of your marble coasters a little more table friendly, feel free to trace the coasters onto your cork roll and cut out the hexagon shape. Then simply remove the backing and stick it to the bottom of the coasters. Easy peasy. Now who is ready for a party?!

I loved these so much I ordered the same tiles! I was wondering what method you used to get the sticky part of the backing off? Particularly the edges?

Yay! So glad you like them! I used sand paper to gently sand the edges and bottom to remove any excess backing mesh and glue.
