If you haven’t caught on to my recent craft obsession of wrapping glassware with vinyl, then it will become very apparent after today’s blog post. It began last week with my neon typography vases and continued yesterday with my vinyl cake stands. But today I am moving one step past vinyl into removable adhesive wallpaper! Yep! Removable wallpaper comes in so many fun patterns now and acts very similarly to adhesive vinyl. I guess you could say that it is no longer just for walls!

The patterned wallpaper plus a little bit of gold vinyl turn these ordinary glass vases into amazing, colorful pieces. And they don’t have to be used for just flowers, you can use them for succulent planters or even a pencil cup.

The Supplies:

• Woven Printed Removable Wallpaper (I purchased sample pieces from Spoonflower and was able to make 3-4 average sized vases per sample sheet)
• Silhouette Printable Gold Foil
• Cylindrical Glass Vase
• Scissors and measuring tape 

Begin by measuring the circumference of your vase and cut a strip of vinyl to this size about 3″ shorter that the height of the vase. Slowly wrap the wallpaper strip around the top of the vase working out the air bubbles as you go. You will want to make sure that the wallpaper remains level on the glass as you work your way around. This is where having a perfectly cylindrical vase helps.

Once the wallpaper is wrapped around the vase, cut a strip of gold vinyl the same length as the circumference of your vase and 3″ tall. Slowly wrap the gold vinyl around the vase working out the air bubbles as you go and making sure to overlap the wallpaper by 1/8″ or so.

And that’s it! Not so bad was it?! And don’t feel stuck to just gold (although who doesn’t love metallic gold?), neon colors look great with a black and white print.

I love that these can be completely customized to my tastes and that I can even upload my own designs to Spoonflower too. With so many fun wallpaper patterns out there, there really are no limits to what you can make. Now I am off to see if I can cut the wallpaper with my vinyl cutter! Oh the possibilities!
