Decorate It – Spring Home Tour Part 1

filed under

I finally got around to getting all my Valentine’s decor packed up and put away and spring has officially sprung in my home. This year I went for a mix of spring with just a tad of Easter decor. Really it is just a colorful assortment of decor pieces with tons of flowers and bright colors to get out of the boring neutrals of winter. Today I wanted to share my built-ins, daybed, and bar cart with you and next week I will share my mantel, living room, and possibly my kitchen. So on to the decor!

Lets start with the day bed and all these gorgeous pillows! I absolutely love pillows and even though I have a ton, I recently purchased a few more that are just perfect for spring. The two coral polka dot pillows and the tassel pillow are all from Target and are the perfect spring colors. Do you see that light mint blue pom pom trim on the coral pillow?! And those tassels on the tribal pillow? Swoon.
As for the other pillows you see there, the mint ones I made from place mats, the pink one is the back of a Target clearance pillow, and the others are old pillows that I had laying around that worked great for my spring daybed. Oh, and that throw is from Home Goods.
Next is my coffee table which was a Goodwill find that I painted and added gold accents to. Since I have young kids who love to make messes, I topped it with a pretty basket from Target and a bunch of colorful plastic Easter eggs for the little hands to play with.
Now on the the best part. My built-in shelving!
Just look at all that spring prettiness! There are some pieces here that are constants, but lets focus on the new spring and Easter additions.
This section of the built-ins is my favorite. I love the large vase of flowers (they are faux and the vase was .99 cents from the thrift store!), and that little bunny vase from Target that I filled with faux grass and a few extra flowers. All the colors though. That is what I am all about. Sure there is every color in the rainbow here, and that is just the way I like it!
Now on to the middle section of the built-ins.
Here I have my Happy Easter sign from last years Target dollar spot along with a vase full of the prettiest gilded faux eggs and a few odds and ends that have come from Home Goods or the Target dollar spot.

Finally we have the left side of the built-ins which in my opinion is the least cohesive, but I kind of ran out of themed decor pieces, so I just used what I had. Don’t look too close! Ha!

Finally is the bar cart. I swapped the XOXO banner from Valentines day for this gold edged Easter egg banner (also from Target. You see a theme here?). I also swapped out the flowers and added a tray of fruit to the bottom. But honestly not much of a change from Valentine’s day. I still love it though!

Alright, that ends the spring home tour part 1. I hope you were inspired by my colorful decor choices and feel the need to go out and add a tons of flowers and pretty prints to your decor!
