Craft It – A No-Sew Felt Confetti Pillow

Remember two Fridays ago when I talked about my obsession with confetti/glitter? Well, this is one project that came out of that obsession. This no-sew felt confetti pillow is so fun and I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out! I can’t believe how easy it was to make this pillow. You really only need to know how to use scissors and glue and your are all set to craft it on up.

The pillow form that I purchased was a 20″ by 20″ and I only ended up
using about 1/2 of each sheet of felt to make this heart. So the whole
project ended up costing less than $10 since I had the scissors, glue,
and cardboard. So not only is it cute, it was really inexpensive too! Follow along below to see how to make your very own no-sew confetti heart pillow.

The Supplies:

  • An assortment of felt (I used 5 shades of pink, red, and purple, pink glitter, and gold which I got off Etsy)
  • A solid colored canvas pillow cover (I got mine for $4 at Ikea)
  • Washable fabric glue such as Fabri-tac or Fabric Fusion
  • Scissors
  • A piece of cardboard as large as the pillow cover

Start by cutting your felt into long strips and then into small confetti sized pieces.

Once you have your felt confetti cut, you will prepare your stencil by drawing a heart shape on the piece of cardboard and cutting it out (I used my X-acto knife) to create a stencil. Now position your stencil over the pillow cover.

You will want to work in small batches, so begin by covering a small palm sized section of the pillow with your fabric glue and then press on your confetti in a random pattern. Since I used glitter and gold felt that were one sided I had to make sure that they were facing up, but I just sprinkled on the rest of the felt confetti and pressed it in to place to give it a random confetti look.

Once the first section of glue was covered, I added another palm sized amount and continued to work my way around the heart stencil adding glue and then covering with the felt confetti.

Once you are finished, remove the cardboard and use the glue to fill in any blank spots. Then just let the glue dry. If you want you can cut extra strips of the felt and glue them around the border of the pillow case like I did for an extra pop of color.

I made this pillow to go with my Valentine’s day decor, but you can switch up the stencil and colors of felt that you use to suit your taste or decor. And if you are really ambitious, you could cover the entire pillow with felt confetti! How fun would that be?
